Your courses are presented in a caring manner - nothing is left to chance. I checked out the other gypsy jazz guitarists websites, though they are excellent guitarists, their websites are not so great. They are too random and confusing, not knowing where to start. Keep up the great work my friend! I just want to work on Ultimate Gypsy Run for a while before purchasing another course. Bruce”

The delivery is just right in terms of the talk (just enough theory to make it make sense) and speed of delivery of playing. Slowed down to learn and the accelerating speed. Linked up with descending chord scales, inversions and ‘connective’ diminished chords turned it full circle, giving a complete picture. Wouldn’t have worked alone on paper. “I have been playing and listening to Django's music for the past 30 years. I know most of the songs and can solo over the changes but I always sounded like a bebop player playing gypsy swing. In other words, I could play the tunes, but never with that authentic gypsy sound. I learned so much from this course. You are an excellent teacher and having the ability to play this lesson at half speed gives the added benefit of helping me understand the timing of the phrases as well as you played your run over several tunes as examples. So much of "that sound" comes from the phrasing, not just the notes. I would love for you to do an entire lesson on timing and phrasing one day. “This is one of the most useful courses I've seen. Really well explained, with heaps of information given in easy to understand bites. It's not just a long complex run, (which would be difficult and perhaps even a bit boring). It's actually an explanation of how to use diminished and harmonic minor scales in conjunction with really common chord sequences (dom7 to minor), plus how and where to incorporate diminished chords in rhythm, and their relationship with both major and minor triad positions. Then when you hear Yaakov playing the examples over songs, you begin to realise just how useful it really is. It will take a while for all the info to sink in, but like all of Yaakov's courses, what this course gives you is a wealth of information that you can incorporate into all of your playing. I intend to go through it several times, because I think as you work through the videos, each one has great tips to concentrate on.”
