“Although you can just like I did get started and get going with Yaakov's free La Pompe video and a few of the other bits around the net the amount of details you will get from this course are worth the few quid a hundred fold. It is hard to find someone that is a great teacher and a great player, Yakoov can do both to top level and he does make it easy to learn the techniques for this style. Don't waste your time if you are serious about learning this style, just sign up and learn it the right way as it is harder to undo bad habits later on. You will be glad you did! Thank you Yaakov for the tips, feedback and the funny moments that you keep in your videos! On to the arpeggios now... so much work to do so little time.. :D ”

“I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for the fantastic lessons. I'm almost overwhelmed at how perfectly suited these lesson packages are for someone at my level (a perpetual beginner, with a better grasp of theory than practice). I'm sitting here in a Tokyo hotel room with time on my hands but no guitar to practice with. Watching some of these lessons is literally making my hands itch! Not everyone that can do can teach. You have a real knack for teaching things in a practical, and more importantly practice-able, way. I honestly thought there was no way I'd ever be able to play gypsy jazz well, but your lessons have truly inspired me to put in the time. I'm looking forward to recording my progress over the next six months or so. I'm also hoping to interest some of my guitar playing friends to the genre and to your lessons in particular. It would be fantastic to play with others also new to the style. I found your website and lessons via your free lessons in YouTube, by the way. That's a fantastic form of advertising. I'd likely never have found your site if I hadn't stumbled across your free lessons. Thank you! -- Rex Walters”

All the subtleties are covered in great detail but it's arranged in nice easy sized steps. Plus when I needed some help I just posted to the forum and Yacoob replied within a few hours. Fantastic course, well supported, so 5 stars from me. Highly recommended. ”

“Yaakov's teaching method is clear and concise. By the end of the course I could swing gypsy style consistently, play the 6 tunes in the course and apply the swing style, chords and substitution ideas to a lot of songs in the gypsy fakebook. This course is essential for anyone that wants to get to the heart of gypsy rhythm-even if you already can play other guitar styles. I made so much progress nailing the fundamentals and getting the "sound" I was looking for, I have already started another course. Thanks Yaakov!”

“I'd like to share some insight as to why I enjoy Yaakov's courses so much (yes, I have pretty much all of them). I can really learn from his instruction and begin to actually play music. I'm 71 and although I've been in love with the guitar, jazz, and swing Manouche I have never really been able to play well. In addition to the reflexes slowing (Ha Ha, trying to rip through a Django scalar or arpeggiated figure at all of 28% of the speed of the recording). And, I have a pretty serious essential tremor so I'm not always sure I'll hit the string I'm targeting. BUT, none of that matters in the slightest. I enjoy the hell out of my time with the guitar and Yaakov's courses are so thorough, understandable and inspiring that it pushes my abilities such as they are a bit further every month. I have probably 5 instructions on La Pompe but never really heard it in my playing until emulating the instruction on the lessons. In my opinion learning is not more real than that. Yaakov, please keep the wonderful courses coming. David Elkins”

“Yaakov, This should probably be written with your triads lessons, but, I wanted to thank you so very much for the webinar lesson that you did a few weeks ago. In one hour you unlocked some amazing doors into the world of gypsy jazz that I never knew. Its magical simplicity. With melodies, I was always struggling, bouncing around, never really knowing where I was at. Thanks to you, I have a better understanding of where those melodies come from and how to improvise more comfortably with and within them. To understanding the structures and patterns as one element, but then, to be able to express the story and emotions involved, like Django, that will take some time and practice, I know. I feel I have so much to learn.... and look forward to. Thank You Yaakov, for your time, patience, understanding, and desire to share this! You are truly an inspiration! Sincerely, Jon~”

“Once again, Yaakov's teaching is 2nd to none in this wonderful course on proper LaPompe rhythm! I wish I would have known of him when I started playing Gypsy Jazz a few years ago. LaPompe is a very attention grabbing, foot tapping way to play rhythm. Do not be fooled by this as a player……getting it just right is more illusive than you think and Yaakov is just the man to make sure you get it right! This is the 3rd course I have ordered from him and they just keep getting better. He goes through everything (missing nothing) that you need to know. And……the videos are CRYSTAL clear, even at full screen! It's like having Yaakov in the same room with you. Gosh, I could have saved a lot of money on books if I knew him earlier. The most important thing about this review………..IT'S WORTH EVERY PENNY YOU SPEND! IF YOU'RE SERIOUS, SIGN UP FOR IT….YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED! THANKS YAAKOV!!!!!!”
