Your La Pompe Challenge

La Pompe is the heart of Gypsy Jazz. Almost everyone who hears it falls in love with the style. But unfortunately, most players don't have a good La Pompe. It may sound really easy to play, but it is very hard to catch on to the real thing yourself.

So if after working on your La Pompe with your La Pompe course you still feel that you need additional help, this online live workshop is the right thing for you!

The Gypsy guitarists saw and heard La Pompe from birth and had masters to guide them.  It's not surprising that they sound so good. And if you feel that you still doesn't sound like them, it's alright! La Pompe is really hard to learn without direct feedback. This four-week training program will solve that for you and make your La Pompe swing and sound just as is should, making your accompaniment feel so good.

Your La Pompe Prescription:

  • Four LIVE on-line lessons to reveal the secrets that can only be conveyed live from the master to the learner (broadcasts in a closed Facebook group).

  • Two Zoom sessions that allow one-on-one tuition to see you and work with you closely, making sure you are doing it right!

  • Special closed Facebook group - get weekly assignments, upload unlimited videos of your progress and get my immediate feedback.

  • Be part of a live group workshop with interaction among the students. You won’t be learning alone!

  • Master classes: 2-3 student guests in every session so I can see and teach them LIVE and you can participate and learn from seeing me teaching them.

  • I have found La Pompe so difficult to perform. Can I really do it?

Yes! I'll help you set up your personal goals and practice routine so you'll be able to make it!

  • I already play La Pompe. What can I gain from this course?

If your La Pompe is great, then this online workshop is not for you. But if you prefer using YouTube play-alongs over your own recorded accompaniment, then this course is for you!

  • I am very busy. How much time should I devote to this course each day?

In order to get the most out of this course you need to attend all the online classes and practice about one hour a day. However, if you can't make it right now and you still want to take advantage of this unique offer, the recordings of the live lessons will be there for you to watch in your own time.

  • What kind of feedback can I get from Yaakov?

  • I don't have a Gypsy guitar. Can I learn this on my classic/ acoustic or electric guitar?

Yes! Don't ever let your guitar hold you back. Do you know that Django played a concert on a toy guitar once? So, don't let the guitar stop you. Let the love of music be your guide.

“Yaakov’s Facebook group has taken my learning experience to the next level. I had never recorded my playing on video before nor shared it online with others. But using my cellphone I was ready to go in seconds, not minutes. With the help of Yaakov and his online group I suddenly see lots of improvements in a short period of time. I now enjoy every step along the way. Thank you Yaakov”

“For me, the online course bridged the gap between the video instruction and actually learning elements of the style. It was really helpful to listen to the music of the advanced students and to watch Yaakov take all of the students to the next level of practice technique. Yaakov is so insightful as a musician but goes beyond to apply insight to the art of online teaching.”

“Another fine workshop from Yaakov, this time on the oh so important element of rhythm in Gypsy Jazz, Yaakov has the ability to focus on the basic movements, really breaks it down, so you can build from the bottom up. All this without getting academic, and keeping it fun. If you are a student like me, who can play a fair bit already, but need structure, you can’t go wrong with a workshop like this!”
